Colic Support 4 million babies are born in the US each year. Of those babies, about 20% will show signs of colic. That's 800,000 families that are being affected by colic each year. I believe that colic is not a harmless condition because it can cause serious (and lasting) problems within the family due to its relentlessness. Both of my children had colic. During those first three months of each of their lives, we tried all kinds of tricks and gadgets but mainly we learned how to problem solve. I have now become a colic support group facilitator at Power of Birth powerofbirth.com and Everyday Athlete Studio everydayathletestudio.com and privately offer my services to families struggling with the challenges of a crying baby.
Typically my services include: An in-home assessment of the baby and family during which I will:
• hold your baby and demonstrate helpful positions • suggest some tricks and help you with them to see if your baby likes them, ie, swinging, swaddling, side-lying, white noise, breastfeeding advice • refer you out to a lactation consultant, and other support if the need is apparent • listen • hold your baby while you rest, run errands or get some needed alone time
24 hour on call support
The cost of colic support is $40/hr |
